Log #10 - VCDS Diagnostics and Undercarriage Inspection

Fault-Code Review and Physical Inspection

July 20, 2026

Diagnostic Setup

With the check-engine light illuminated, the vehicle was scanned using a VAG KKL 409.1 interface and VCDS-Lite. The stored faults included 16514 / P0130 (Lambda B1S1 circuit), 16804 / P0420 (catalyst efficiency), 16555 / P0171 (system too lean), 16684 / P0300 (random/multiple misfire), 00777 (G79 accelerator-pedal position sensor), 00660 (kickdown/throttle-position signal), 00529 (engine-speed signal missing), 00545 (engine/transmission electrical connection), 01314 (ECM communication) and 00562 (G266 oil level/temperature sensor open circuit).

Physical Inspection

The vehicle was raised for an undercarriage inspection. The front tie-rod ends showed wear and the front anti-roll-bar links were broken. The G266 sensor wiring and connector area were heavily contaminated with oil.

G266 Sensor Findings

The aftermarket G266 sensor appeared to be poorly seated. This was consistent with the oil leak around the sensor and the open-circuit fault recorded by the diagnostic scan.

Conclusion and Next Steps

The scan results were treated as a starting point rather than proof that every listed component had failed. The physical findings helped prioritise the G266 sensor and front suspension components for repair, followed by reassessment of the remaining fault codes.
