Log #9 - Wheel Decontamination, Pre-Wash and Exterior Detailing
First Use of the New Cleaning EquipmentJuly 14, 2026
Pre-Wash and Foam Application
A Polham pressure foam sprayer was used with Valet Pro Snow Foam Combo 2. The pre-wash was intended to loosen surface dirt before contact washing and reduce the risk of dragging grit across the paint.
Iron Fallout Removal and Dilution
Divortex Redstorm iron remover and Valet Pro Classic APC were included in the cleaning process. The APC mixture was prepared at 120 ml product to 4 litres of water, approximately a 3% dilution. The product was left to work for around 3–4 minutes and was not allowed to dry on the surface.
Contact Wash and Drying
After the pre-wash and rinse, the vehicle was washed using the two-bucket method and a Spark wash mitt. Drying was completed with a Magicdose 50 × 70 cm drying towel.
Glass, Headlights and Tyres
Michelin MC31395 glass cleaner was used on the windows and polycarbonate headlight lenses. Selsil tyre dressing was applied in two coats for a more even finish.
Conclusion
The session established a more controlled home-washing routine and tested the newly acquired equipment. Product dwell time, dilution and thorough rinsing were kept in mind throughout the process.
